Hi MashB!

{{{Hugs to Terelle & U!!}}}

I saw Terelle's injured leg from her blog! She's a BRAVE gal! You must get some rest as well, or else you'll be drained out by the time she recovers. Take Care

My Gabby has cough & fever last week & nw she has developed bronchitis. She had to put on nubeliser for 3 days. After day one, she had scratches & bruises on face & hands after all the struggling. *Haiz*

Hi samlovesam, welcome!

Jo, received your PM liao! Will arrange with you. No problem lah! have you considered getting part-time help with the house? I no choice, have to also. Otherwise, bb has to breathe in dust already...

zazan, zanne's smile is so infectious, it makes me smile everytime I look at it... Btw, I rem you have c-sect. I thought you have to rest for a few more months before you conceive again? Not sure myself but heard from people...

hi zinie, oh that's very near ... we can meet up someday!! Actually my intension is to be like britney spears having 2 in a year but no luck leh. My bb gal is 81/2mths, need lots of attention at this stage. I am now staying with my parents, my mum really lessen my load. You take care of ur bb alone or there's helper? I always believe that taking care of 2 children alone is possible but tedious.... will lost a lot of our own free time, now we have one, we still got little time to do our own stuff and i enjoy shopping with my gal, imagine the 2nd one coming... As for me i plan to work once my mission accomplish, i dont wish to work for a few months then be pregnant again, bosses will not like it, so must well do it once and for all. Secondly, since i am fat now then better conceive again and go for slimming session after the 2nd delivery . Ask yourself , would you like to suffer now or take a few years break then go thru the same cycle again.

You wont know whether you can cope until the time comes, if we are always afraid of the unknown how can we release our inner potential....nobody born to be a multi task mum, we learn after the bb comes isnt it. mums living in the older generation take care of bundle of children w/o helper so i dont see why cant we handle only 2. I am not saying fong1 liang2 hua4 as for me now staying with someone who indeed is a great help. My staying with parents is only for a short term, in future i will have to manage on my own and i am looking fwd to the challange!!!

Nah none of u mentioned keke it was my blood pressure too high liao and shot up to 220/120+ from morning til night and also urine got protein so they called it E-Proclamsia something like this lo, and they quickly sent me to OT for C-section leh..very siong ah my others 4 kids never go thru C-section b4 so consider this is the very fist time i gone thru operation and last time i hope lol...Yeah happy mother until very CHAO LAO( OLD) haha even my HB looks 10 years younger than me ah thus many also mistaken he is my son hahaha. Well Well i'm a Chinese but my name is Ayu for real...sure go down and see her once i'm free lo..Sigh i can't BF her leh thus doc said i'm taking high blood medication and can't BF so sad, let me try 1 time also cannot lol becos my 4 other kids also didnt BF due to medication..I'm such a failure mom that can't even BF my 5 kids, just months ago maybe less than a year then i know what is called breastpump, cooler bag, sealer bag, steriliser lol i really wanna laugh ah so SUA GU,

Hi, i'm an experienced pre-school teacher now SAHM. My kids are both 4 and 8 yrs old now. I started doing playgroup style cum phonics teaching with them when they were 2/3 yrs old. Both started reading elementary books and able to spell many words by age 3.

Many parents sent their kids to phonics at the age of 4 and some kids at age 5 still unable to spell or read well. In fact, once a week phonics class is not enuf. At least 2 times a week is more effective. Giving toddlers early exposure to phonics with effective material and fun lesson plan is beneficial. My girl loves reading and without tuition and the need to do assessment book, she's the top scorer for English in P1. Her strong English foundation will not be possible if i did not expose her to phonics at an early age. There are many phonics material sold in bookstores and internet but many are not interesting. The one i have is used by a popular playgroup and my 2 kids love it and listen to it many times which is impt for their learning process.

Thus, I'm thinking of starting a training course to mothers who wants to learn how to teach phonics YOURSELF effectively. It's oso good bonding time with your kids and with those who have more than 1 child, it's even better to do it together. U can bring yr kid along as long as they dun distract you. Lesson plan, CD and material will be included. I will teach hand actions on songs and rhymes as well as ideas on art and craft to make the whole teaching session meaningful.

Details as follows:-
- 6 to 8 week course
- 2 hours per SESSION, once a week
- Weekday morning except Thurs (pls state your preference)
- Time : 9.30 to 11.30 am (time can be adjusted)
- $50 per SESSION (including lesson plan and craft material)
- Phonics Book and CD to be purchase at $20/- per set.
- Location : Sembawang
This phonics course is basic phonics comprise of Consonants and Vowels. Suitable for children upto 4 yrs old.

Alternatively, if there's a demand, i will conduct a homebased playgroup cum phonics class for kids 2-3 yrs old with adult sit-in.

If you are interested, pls email to me at jannalin_mrc@hotmail.com.

All enquiries are welcome

Hi,
I'm staying in Yishun and interested to learn phonics myself hence would like to know more about your course. As the fees of $50 is on the high side for me, I hope to have more details on the course for consideration. Eg. what kind of books/CD you're using. Details of the topics for each lesson or whole course. Please PM me on the details. Thanks.

Hi Yvette,
I dropped by for enquiry last year and didn't have good impression. An indian teacher (she seems to be teaching most of the sub) was explaining to us. A little kid approached her in between and she just told him to wait w/o any eye contact as if he's bothering her alot.

That's only my brief encounter with the CC hopefully there'll be more feedback fr other mums.

Hi cakey,
Thank you for your feedback. The only reason i am thinking of sending my child there is it's really very convenient as we stay near the cc. Did you send your child to any CC now? My girl is under the care of a nanny and i really think she needs to go to school as she is 3 yrs old now.

Hi Yvette,
I can't find any CC with vacancy nearby except Jollytots when I was looking mid of last year. In the end I send my kid to Greentree Montessori which is further but with school bus. You may want to chk out Cherie Hearts near Khatib Camp which provide school bus too. These are on higher end hence I only put him at 3hr care since I'm SAHM.
Otherwise you may consider sending her to playgroup such as Appletree which I think is very good for age 3.

You could do a search on your area's CC on below website to have some idea on their fees.
https://www.childcarelink.gov.sg/ccls/home/ChdCccSrch.jsp
I would think those above $900 for full-day before subsidise is high. I suppose their resources, curriculum planning, material would be better. However most impt is the teacher. Hence it is best to get feedback or thru yr own observation.

Yvette,
Fogot to mention that there'll be a new CC by PCF Nee South South opening sometime this year (still in renovation). It should be around blk 875. You could call/dropby to enquire.

Tired mum,
Ya had to try out and observe no choice.

Hi mummies, can I asked where do your normally bring your children to on your free time? I would normally bring my son to my neighborhood or northpoint shopping mall, just to walk around and see things as he's just 14 months. Wonder if there's any good place that I should bring him to.

Hi Jo, how old is your child? Must be quite big now that your brought him to splashpark. I never thought of bringing him to library, maybe can try someday. :-)

That's very nice to meet up with the mummies and hav the little ones mingle around.

Hi mummies,

I'm a first time mother and admit can be quite ignorant when comes to bringing up a child.
My MIL suggested to mix brown rice powder into my baby's FM.. Say once or twice daily. Is that recommendable? Is cooking not required? Just mix and blend with the FM?

Can you share with me what are the other food you are feeding your baby at 4m? Eg. Fruit juices or rice cereal?

Thank youuuuu!!
