I've only been adding fresh Magnolia milk or yogurt alternate days to her fruit mix to make a smoothie. She's tried it neat once from the doidy cup and didn't seem too excited by the taste so haven't tried again since. Anyway, I'm still bfing so it's still easy for me to bring her out and about.

Shayna also had fever about 5 days after the MMRV at 15 months. But it was over within the day. She's still as chatty as ever and no unusual behaviour seen.

I'm so surprised she woke up just once this morning at 5am. I sure hope it's not a one-off. This gal has been going thru some major teething for the past few months and endless whining at night. She would wake up 4-6 times!! But instead, today, it was poor me who woke up 5am and couldn't get back to sleep :-(

I can only brush her teeth for a few seconds and she will take over move and bite the brush. I think we are supposed to let our bubs visit the dentist by now. I'm just not sure how cooperative she will be since she doesn't like to open her mouth for me to see. Guess I will look into it.

Babe ...

When can Inya confirm? I have paid a deposit of $300 for the group.

The guy was telling me that if there is any increase in the number of pax, better to tell him in adv.

But I guess since its just 1 additional adult (highchair for violette is already included) should be fine.

So looking fwd to this gathering heehee

Fresh/Full cream milk
Oh, haven't tried that yet. Coz he seems to cough after taking cold drinks.

jo's mummy
I've given spicy food like curry or food with chilli and my boy will still ask for more even though he finds it spicy coz he will go "ha ha" & ask for water. But after that, he will still want the food.

Reverie,
My boy is drinking Karihome. Right after I wean him off BM after 1yr old, gave him goat milk. Pricey, but I think the benefits are gd. Suppose to be more easily disgestable. I don't find it heaty and drank it b4, taste and smell ok to me.

i oso not giving my boi NAN3... he's has been changing FM recently coz he still poo like 3-4 times almost daily (for 3 mths lor)...
but when i gave him NAN3 fr switzerland(managed to get 2 tins), he only poo once daily... so strange...
we tot mayb due to FM but it doesn't seem so even aft we've chg so many diff types for him, tink fr goat milk to NAN HA to enfagrow and now on GAIN IQ...
suspect due to teething, he does play, eat, sleep norm... think not gg to switch anymore until he's teeth r out n see how...
i'm wondering i keep changing FM for him, dun know how his system take it... oso dun know gd or bad for him... sighz

sunshinebaby, for the D24 Durian it is S$45.50 (include 7% GST) for 1box of 4pcs after 15%discount. For the Assorted Snowskin Combo(Apple Caramel, Mango Pomelo, D24 Durian, Cempadak) it is S$41.84 (include 7% gst)per box of 4pcs after 15% discount.

I just call the Mooncake Call Centre, they will provide us the Cooler Bag for the Snowskin mooncake. They say it can only keep outside for 1.5hours with the cooler bag. They need min 5boxes for pre-order. so far if you wan to purchase only 3boxes of order. so i think not going to pre-order and will just buy from the Deli counter on tat day itself.

Re: Nan pro 3
I am still giving my boy NAN Pro 3 since he was 10 month old... previously was on NAN HA 2. So far he got no problem with NAN Pro 3 and I found that NAN pro 3 has more nutrients than NAN HA 3..

Re: Poo
He poo every morning... but refuse to sit on potty, if I distract him with toys to ask him sit on it... nothing will come out.... he prefer to squat... So everytime when I caught him in a squating position, he is doing his big business.. hmmmm...

GOAT MILK

Jo, your doctor very funny, is it an old man ??
goat milk for goat baby... hahaha....

I bought the goat milk direct from the farm weekly. I've tried the milk... yuk !! sooo smelly, but I don't know why Ryker love it so much, he can drink 240ml instead of FM @ 210ml.
He know we kept the milk in the fringe so whenever he wants to drink will hold our hands to the fringe... hahaha...

jo
ic... nvm, i'll get it myself other day... ^_^

yiyi
my boi on NAN since birth, only recently chg of mfg of country origin n they chg their forumla, makes the milk more foamy which i dun like...
he all along only poo once daily and his stool is 1 pc type, only when gave him the new NAN3, then he poos more often n his stool r mashy, no more 1 pc type...
dun know really so zhun tat the timing of his FM chg n teething are at the same time which i cant tell is due to which...
anyway, hv decided not to chg anymore till his teeth is out... wait till then to see he'll still poo tat often anot...

my boi currently do his business in toilet... think he cant differentiate btw poo n 'fang pi' so when he told us 'er er', we'll immediate bring him to toilet and sometimes only gas...
so sometimes we suspect he bluff us so didn't bring him to toilet but he really did it in the diaper...
actually very tiring to bring him in n out the washroom and somemore now he poo more compare to last time only once daily...

Piggy, ya the doc is an old man...we go see him cannot ask too much or say our own assumptions..such as if baby fever or diarhea, we will say most probably is teething..then the doc will say, "u so clever, u don need come see me already lar and u can bcome doc liao!"

oh goat milk is keep in fridge har..then did u warm it up or give the cold goat milk directly to Ryker?

sun, ya think get it later is ok..but just to inform u there will be no discount at Takashimaya B2 the mooncake fair and also Vivo city.

sun, Bryan so good boy can pee and poo in the toilet..thumbs up for him!!

yiyi, my boy also don like to poo in the potty. he will sit there playing or stand up and step into the potty! faintz..he also prefer to poo when squatting...its funny to see him poo, the face turn red n the lips like this ={

My pd told me if fresh goat milk, is deficient in folic acid, so u need to supplement him with it. But if its goat FM, then its ok. Think u can google on this as I read it somewhere on web b4.

Sun,
My boy was on NAN HA 1 and 2... ya like you say when I change to NAN Pro 3, the milk created a layer of foam when I mix the water and powder.. I noticed that all NAN HA are from Switz and NAN Pro from Philp. So you are previously from NAN HA too?

Jo's Mummy:
Yea... exactly... so funny watching our boys doing his big business right... squatting there with a very serious concentrated red face... LOL!

Spicy food:
Few days ago, I just let my boy try Kimchi soup... he stick out his tongue.. I thought he will cry... but instead he immediately ask for more.. :P

Need tips on how to remove phlegm pls e eryone. She had a bit of gastric flu orcold which is cured now. Persistent phlegm though. She doesnt know how to spit it out. The only way it's being expelled is with all her milk. So we have cleaned up fountains of puke over the last week. Help?!

P.Seed,

Did you brig A to see PD? Bree is now going through the same thing, before she got a chance to fully recover from her allergies. She has caught the flu virus.

PD has given her Ventolin to clear her nasal passage and loosen her phlegm cos her cough is almost asthmatic.. as in out of breath

she is also given Rhiniramine to stop her runny nose..

you might want to being her to PD for another round to check

Pumpkinseed, I would recommend the EYS "Bao Ying Dan" or "Ba Bao Shan". It is in powder form and very good to remove phlegm. U can feed him 1 bottle after morning bath and 1 bot after evening bath. Very fast can relieve the phlegm..

You can read from the link below for more info before buying. Its really good and effective!

Hi Jo & Teddy,

Thanks for the advice. During the day, I give Ryker fresh goat milk, and Mamil HA at night.
We need to warm up the goat milk before giving to Ryker, so no point to give him goat milk at night.... no time. Now, he drank est. 240ml goat milk & Mamil HA 180ml only.

Btw, I also give Ryker 'Ba Bao Shan' whenever he cough or having phelm.... is very effective than western med.

Thanks everyone who responded. She saw a doctor last weekend. Just went to see the doc again. My mum gave her Ba Bao Shan previously but she didn't react well to it. Will try the Tui Na/Osteopath.

P.Seed, C also recovered from cough/phlegm, took 2 weeks to fully clear away all, PD medication is only 80% effective even wif antobiotics. My dad bought some TCM powder n it is very effective to clear the phelgm, within 2 days! I also intend to bring her to Osteopath, but where is the effective one?

I dun agree that bb dhiukd not drink milk. How abt goat milk. If dun take milk then bb will lack dha which is impt for bb brain development. u might wanna give Nordic nature dha fish oil fr vitakids. V popular n good.

hi queenie,

have you tried changing the fm? last time my boy was constipated very badly too, sometimes poo only once every 5-7 days n he'll cried badly. i changed fm by chance and now he poo abt once a day. realised the fm plays a huge part in whether he has regular bowels.

if he doesn't poo once a day, he will def poo the 2nd day. it's much better and he's not fearful now. realised pooing can be very traumatic for our tots if need to strained very hard when constipated. hope tristan can poo regularly soon!

p/s he was constipated in the past despite me giving him peach/plum/lots of other fruits at least twice a day in the past. nowadays, just one feeding of fruit a day is sufficient.

p/p/s for snacks, how about making some apple chips or pear chips for him to munch? just need to cut very thin slices and place on baking sheet to bake in the oven, about an hr or soon. no other ingredients needed, naturally sweet and yummy :-)

i do give tristan 2-3 fruits servings daily..
2 to be taken at ifc, and another 1 evening fruits serving in e evening. but still he gets constipated. he now already have phobia thus keep trying to hold back his bowels and the constipation cycles stay puts..

ya i also quite strange to hear tt baby after 1yo can do without milk.. goat milk is also the same, but maybe less heaty compared to cow's milk.

thanks i will go down vitakids maybe tml as is located at my office buildiing.

now only hope he will clear away all his old stools in his intestine and cultivate good soft stools so he can overcome his phobia himself.

hi queenie,

my boy's taking gain iq now, changed from enfalac when he was younger. tink all tots different, what works for him may be diff from what can work for tristan. hope you can find the best fm for him!

p/s rem the apple/pear chips are also considered "heaty" coz baked stuff so dun give him too much if he's still got constipation prob k. must drink more water also hor.

Some updates on the zoo gathering. The zoo's food is quite expensive other than KFC and they have informed that for KFC, they will not be allowing us to keep an area for ourselves on fri, sat and sun from now on. Thus, I propose that we have early lunch and meet there.

Our itinerary for the zoo outing is as follows:
1130 am Meet outside zoo and stroll ard the exhibits heading towards the rainforest amphitheatre

1230 pm Animal friends show at rainforest amphitheatre

1 pm Water fun at Rainforest Kidsworld Waterplay

After water fun is free and easy.. :-)

Appreciate if you could confirm the tickets before 31 Aug as I intend to collect the ticket money from 1 sep. Will only buy the tickets in advance if we need to buy 30 tickets and above so that we could enjoy the discount. Else, might as well get on that day.

18mths & Children's Day Gathering!

Thanks Mangogal for initiating today's high tea and thanks Seabreeze for organising it. Though I didn't manage to chat with all mummies but I enjoyed myself, so does Eames (busy running around)

Queenie
Poor tristan, must be very miserable to be constipated. But why PD said cannot take leafy vegetables? For Eames, he has to take lots of spinach in his porridge so that he will have an easy time during poo pooing. He will get constipated if he didn't have enough spinach.

Quennie, i just start to give C probiotics powder cos she can dun poo for 2 days n i get worried, how come cant take yogurt n green vege? Thot is good in fibre and digestion? C take these everyday leh. The probiotic powder helps her to poo on alternate days so is better, how many days of interval does T dun poo?

Hope T will overcome the phobia and smooth bowels for him soon :-)

Hi Queenie,

Is Tristan start poo oredi ?? May be you can try : raw & cooked barley (生熟意米), 花灯心 & sugar roll/sticks(optional). This type of barley is meant for infant as it is not sooo cooling. Every week my mum will boil to give Ryker to drink to clear his heaty (mouth smelly) & easy for poo poo. You can try.. just boil for 1/2hr.

or you can try fresh goat milk... easy to digest than cow's milk.

Mangogal
where do you buy the probiotics powder? Javen was constipated for 4 days & we brought him to tmc last nite coz he practically fell aslp & woke up crying every 5-10 mins. He was given 2 types of enema & finally poo such big chunk out that I think even adults wld also have scream their heads off trying to poo. I think I have to start adjusting his diet or this will happen every few mths.

Dear all srumpee Mangogal sunshine bb asura
He pooed already.. After sat, I started administered the enema at hMe myself..
After he started drinking the herbal cleansing tea, the second day till now the fourth day he poo n is relatively soft now.. Thank god. Still have to continue giving him e herbal tea for six more days. Now at least he don cry murder n so fearful of pooing.. Must do whatever I can to cultivate n maintain his stools to be soft n not hard like rock..

Mangogal doc prescribed me probiotics will have to feed him everyday for a month till our next visit to tmc.

Goat milk shd be less heaty I may consider that .. Karihome right?

Green vege eg spinach. I also feed Tristan that almost every week thinking is good for him. But dr told me that leafy vege with stems are too fibrous for him to digest now.. I think is due to Tristan bad constipation system.. Can't really rem in detail.

Yogurt I used to give him everyday but yu Guo told me that will let tristan have 'wind' in his tummy.. That's why his tummy looks bloated.. Well well no matter western or eastern medicine practice, yogurt both are not recommended for Tristan case haha so I save money no need buy yoplait le :-(

Asura.. Ya think again baked stuff are a lil heaty nvm next time he officially not constipated then I reward him a lil baked stuff to munch..

Jasmin
I know how u feel! Tristan poo was super big n thick.. U maybe can tk note of my ytd post on e food to abstain and see if it works..

Prosper
I think is ok

Queenie,

The weather is very hot these days so bb needs to drink a lot of fluids to poop. I know this is true for Shayna as she drinks very little water everyday.

So now I feed her diluted honey water, every morning with her breakfast, water throughout the day and apple prune juice at night. Her hard poos have soften a lot more and she does poo almost daily now, sometimes even twice a day. Try!!

Long time no log in. Hope everyone is well :-)

queenie,

fruit. lots and lots. chop up into small pieces and make sure he gets at least the equivalent of a medium size peach/apple daily. fibrous veg? chop it up really finely and make sure there is plenty of liquid in the food too. quite a lot of people when they cook spinach don't bother chopping it up cos it wilts when cooked, but the tough fibers remain long, u see... give him his own big straw bottle with his preferred drink and let him hold on to it so that he drinks whenever he wants to. make sure he drinks abt half a litre a day. fibre is good for softening poo but without water to keep it bulky it does cause worse constipation. that is why fruit is a good choice. if he takes cereal, make sure it's not too sticky and heavy, ie make sure there is a lot of liquid/milk in it.

the worst things that cause constip in kiddies is starchy, heavy food like bread/biscuits and other junk. instruct the nursery that u prefer if he eats fruit or something like that.

Morning ...

I only give cod liver oil to SH cos thats suitable for bb 7mth and above.

Gave my #1 Vit C + DHA and berry stuff (for eyes) cos he attends full day child care. Realise that he doesnt fall sick as often and usually recover much faster.

I personally feel that its just a supplement and it doesnt replace the actual fruits/vegetable. So its fine + Vit C is water soulable, which means thats whatever that is in excess will get passed out.

hi miss83,

r u staying at sengkang too? hee i started searching abt 3 mths back but din find too many playgroups in sengkang area. most is with childcare centres, e.g half day program but i prefer only 2-3 hrs type.

i found:
1) Appletree (only take in fm 3 yrs onwards)
2) Talentplus playgroup (usually at RC area, area very small but could be very near house)

i'm eyeing talentplus now coz very near my plc and easier as a trial out first for my boy who has never attended classes before.

hee do let me know if you know of any other good playgroup :-)

I heard that appletree is not bad, can try out. For me i intend to put my #2 with his elder bro at a new childcare next year. Heard from my friend is quite good but abit far at further down serangoon central.
