Jo mummy ... Keep deep deep in the pocket k ... Scrumpee ... Yap a gal this round ... everyone in the family is overjoyed cos FINALLY a gal hahaha I hardly carry SH too cos now over 10kg ... no joke man anyway he seem to prefer walking then us carrying him. But of cos when we reach home he will walk over and hug hug us =) Really lar ... take this as a 'break' that your boy is giving you and he will start sticking to you v soon. I rem that when I just popped and I couldnt spend time with my #1 ... I felt so guilty that I cried and my fren who already had 3 kids told me that not to be silly ... we are actually giving them a playmate and a companion. Now when I see the 2 of them play tog ... I guess my 'worries' were really unfounded. |

Thx everyone for ur wishes. Scrumpee as what they said, it might b a phase. Hubby helps me to carry n walk e bb once we Noe I m preg. I still carry her but not so often. I even ask Alyssa she wants didi or meimei n she replied didi! Haha. I told her she is a big bb n there is a small bb in mummy's tummy. I get her to sayang n kiss my tummy. I tell her to help me take care of bb nxt time. It is good to keep them involve. |

I also started to worry. Hubby said dun worry too much as by then she will b older to understd. Hopefully. My worries are: 1. I'm e only 1 puting her to Zzz in e aftn n at nite. What happen if I go into labour? And when 2nd is out. Who should I put to zzz. 2. I'll haf lesser time for Alyssa. Besides e above, I aleady haf no much social life w Alyssa. I also worry how long will I b sahm n will I b going out to work again. |

Queenie: thanks alot ! ya I am guilty of raising my voice at him too but sometimes just can't help it... Scrumpee: hugs..actually my boy also had this problem on rejecting me. He would stick on to his daddy at home and outside. Would refuse me to carry him when his daddy need to go for shower or toilet breaks. So hubby would purposely leave both of us alone for some bonding time when we are outside and I will try to bribe him with his fav food or toys. And after a while I realise he would come searching for me and etc. So don't worry too much although I know can't help feeling upset about the rejection. Enjoy your pregnancy ! Congrats to all preggy mummies ! I wished I can pick up some baby dust too. But hubby had decided and told his parents we would stop at one. Sigh. There goes my bb girl's dream. Reverie: I think u can try putting both to sleep together they will share the same room ? or let hubby help with Alyssa ? I had the same worries as you. I actually did tell hubby if we wan No 2 should plan now and I need not stop work for too long since expenses been going up and in order to lead a better life , both parents working would be an ideal choice. Ha but since I got no hope for no 2 then no need to think so much already. I think once no 2 reach 2 yrs or 18 month can send to CC or playgroup? then you will be able to work again. And by then Alyssa will be a big girl already |

jo mummy ... Tips on wat?? On having a gal ar hahaah frankly like mangogal ... I had my #3 soon aft I stop bf so its TOTALLY unplanned =p Mangogal ... Finally you announce liao heehee our original plan was to get a helper to help my mum take care of SH and #3 while my #1 is in full day child care. BUT now that my dad's health is not v good (cut long story short - he just started kidney dialysis)... the tot of having 2 maids (my mum has her own maid to do housework) + 2 young kiddos at her house seems v over-whelming to me So may send SH to childcare when he turns 2yr old and at least my #1 is there to 'take care' of him while my mum can take care of my #3. Mummy Bean ... Maybe your hubby will change his mind when your boy is older =) Dun give up heehee Reverie ... Dun worry ... kids are v adaptable one but of cos need to prep them in advance. I always tell my #1 that eventually #2 will move into the same room as him so that to prep him that he wont get a room of his own. Now should start getting your hubby to pat your gal to zzz or your hubby needs to be hands on once you pop ... good to take turn so that each of you spend time with each child. So fast she can say Didi ar ... SH still blur blur like that ... maybe he thinks that the mummy is just growing FAT hahaha |

Seabreeze, yalor :p Ya think u can send SH to childcare liao then at day wont be so overwhelming for ur mum, she can take care of ur no. 3 n and ur 2 maids can do housework and take care of ur dad. U urself hv a helper? Cos gt 3 kids a helper is must :p I cant imagine taking care alone of 2 kids at night manz...but good thing i wont be working for 10 months so still can rest during day if I lost my night sleep :p BTW, do u know when our PB cut off line isit end of this yr? Cos I dunno how to tell my boss I am taking NPL for 6 months and I afraid will affect my next yr PB in March 2011... Jo mummy & Jtho, thks! Hope to hear good news frm u all soon |

Mangogal ... Hahahaha we still want to try without a helper first cos #1 is q big and fairly independent. Though my dad is on dialysis ... he is still leading a normal life except that we are now more careful with his diet + he gets abit short tempered when the kids are too noisy. There is a good chance that we may move to my mum's place aft my sis gets married in Feb next yr so that we are on standby if any emergency stuff happens to my dad until they get a flat near my place. We heard alot of horror stories abt having 2 maids under the same roof thats why we are not keen lor ... dunno lar see how first. Too many uncertainities ... PB cut off should be this yr right cos its based on performance from Jan to Dec mar BUT if you are taking NPL and going on ML ... q sure that the bosses will have things to say one ... me taking all 16 weeks of ML + leave until March. Wan to settle SH before I return to work =p |

Hey MummyBean, don't give up your baby dream lah. Most probably your little boy still young. Like Seabreeze said, by the time your little boy a little older, he might ask for no 2 coz he might miss the 'baby smell' that only babies have. |

Mangogal ... Yap currently she is coping fine with 1 helper and 1 kid =) and guess come next yr I have to make sure that I knock off on time so that I can go home and take care of the 3 kiddos. Set your priorities right and then alot of things are easier to let go =) my bosses oso hint that this yr my performance will be affected that my load is greatly reduced and many of the events that I am organising are actually taking place during my ML. Told her that I will do my best for the ground work and come back next yr to 'pay back' hahaha next yr will have ALOT of changes in my portfoilo oso *sigh* Yar 4mth I oso bu she de ... even now that SH is 16mth I oso cant bear to put him in infant care ... cos I see him like still baby like that. I see alot of the mummies photo in FB and wonder if I am over protective of SH heehee he is still the baby in my eyes ler Jo's mummy ... Aiyo ... dun think so much lar ... I oso got 2 boys heehee they are v fun when they play tog. You see the #1 build his lego then SH sit there and trying to fix the pieces tog. Or they sit there and play cars tog etc ... q nice really =) Have #2 cos you wan 2 kids or 3 kids then the 'stress' wont be so big ... if happen to be your preferred gender ... its a bonus heehee healthy most impt!! Btw, side track abit ... saw Zoe Tay's hubby at PS today with the 2 boys ... v good-looking boys and they were buying ice-cream. v cute lar one moment ask for mango flavour and next moment ask for cone. The hubby q cool and manage them q well oso heehee |

Congrats to all expecting mummies. Mummy bean Alyssa has been zzz with us since about 5 months. we bought her a single simmons bed and we all zzz with mattress on the floor. I thot of moving her to another room while the space she used to occupy will be taken over by 2nd. and easy to bf too. but i miss her leh. how i wish i can split. i wonder could we all 4 zzz tog. but room can only accommodate 1 queen and 1 single. can still put bb cot but easier to bf if put bb lying on the bed with me. drink n zzz. I think if we still can make it, we would like to at least let me stay with them till they start pri sch. Hope your hubby will change his mind. i think mini 2 so that favian will have a companion. touch wood anything happen, he still has a sibling to rely on. btw, alyssa can somehow pronounce the zooophonic quite well. daddy is so amazed by her learning... seabreeze hope your dad is doing well. I only started my mens 3 months and intend to wean her off totally by june and started planning in may and bingo. hope to have a boy and close shop. i think she just anyhow say lah. i asked her if she wants a meimei or didi, she always said didi. maybe easier to come out fr her mouth?! haha... Hubby also says i m v protective over her. on the food she eats, time to nap n zzz. hahah.. maybe i quite organise person. zoe is of cos good. got $ everything can be so wonderful. I have a frd, who is my ex boss, she has 2 kids both in sec fr 1st marriage and 3 kids age 6 and twins 14 months fr 2nd marriage. she has 3 maids. She is a successful businesswoman and quite close with her children too. Got $ solve many things. Send them to enrichment classes fr ear to ear and dun haf to do housework all leave to maid. when bonding time then come in. Good right. She OTOT so can afford the time. Her 6 yr old ger enrichment and maintenance a month is more than my monthly salary i guess. Btw, she does not seem to have much prob with maids. either lucky or she closes 1 eye. i think all indo. got 1 is fr replacement maid. all got hp i think and no time off. no time off v impt. so they wont hanky panky. |

Seabreeze , Don , Lizy: thanks for the encouragement ! Actually we started this 2nd bb topic when my boy is just 3 months old and had alot of arguements on it. Hubby is quite firm with his decision. Haiz. I am just hoping my boy can change his mind when he grows older and asked for a companion. Reverie: I think 4 sleeping together is a workable way. Since you are moving place, u can go do some planning and adjustment. Favian had been sleeping with us too. Somehow out of a sudden he just refuses his bed. You are so lucky leh. I think my hubby is reluctant to let me be a SAHM for that long. Haha. And like u say $ can do wonders. If I am working, I can send Favian for more enrichment classes. Anyway hubby is quite firm on not going to have a mini 2 . Sigh. I am just secretly wishing that Favian can change his daddy's mind when he grows older and see other kids with siblings. Clever Alyssa ! Think she will learn even more things at JG. Your hubby will find all his $ well spent. My in laws commented Favian is different after going to school. So now my husband realise the important of enrichment classes. haha. And been asking what is the next class I wanna send him to :p Starflower: mine can't chew too even on minced pork. He will dig everything out from his mouth as compare to fish. Wondering is it because it is harder to chew ? I din attempt to blend it so just camouflage them as fine as I could. |

Hi mummies, I havent read the thread or posted anything for a long while. Was so surprised to see so many mummies expecting their #2 liao, congrats mangogal and pinksorbet, must be so excited Just to share something happened to my little girl on sat. We were having dinner outside and my maid and sister were playing with her happily when suddenly my maid carried my little girl back covered in blood! I got a shock of my life when i see her whole mouth covered with blood and her dress too! The scene was really scary! Started to wipe away the blood to see where she is hurt. Felt myself trembling as i did so. Saw she had a huge cut on her lower lips and chin. We quickly send her to KK A&E and she had to have 4 stitches done each on her lips and chin. And bacause she is still a toddler and wont be able to sit still during stitching, she had to undergo a similer procedure like GA to have the stitching done. Feel so heartpain. So mummies do be careful with your little ones as they are now at a stage where they run around very fast! |

Sportyger, aiyo how is ur gal now? I can feel ur heartpain, now I cant run after Caroline so also worry she will hurt herself elsewhere. Ya our toddler at this stage must be very careful BTW, I also dun add salt n any seasoning to her food... MummyBean, u can try to brew ur own soup to make it tasty and try to avoid seasoning and salt. |

hi mummies just to share, i've already given salt, sugar and sauces to my boy since he's 14 mths plus. initially i was very strict but one day when i was just reading some articles on the internet, i came across an american lady sharing her experiences with her 2 kids. she was strict with the 1st child and end up with a super fussy eater. when she had her 2nd child, she was more relaxed after the child turned 1 yr old. and the 2nd child was so much easier when it comes to meal time. then i also met an experienced nanny opposite my place, and she was also sharing with me that kids will need a bit of salt in their body now that they are running, because they perspire. her daughter was hospitalised once when she was about 2 or 3 yrs old, and this nanny was reprimanded by a doctor when they realised that there was no salt in the gal's body. so from all these sharing, i decided to give salt n sugar. but of course in moderation. anyway, when we were in france last month, my MIL will put salt when she cooked for my son and my SIL's hubby will let my son eat those pastries from his cafe which are sugarish. now that i open 1 eye and close 1 eye, i think i'm happier and my son is happier also he's now taken care of by a nanny in my block, and nanny also adds in a bit of salt when cooking for him. |

re seasoning for baby food. i have lost the no-salt no-sugar battle. found out my MIL feeds my boy watever she wants and i suspect this is the reason why my boy rejects the food i cook (no salt, no sugar). now i will cook as per normal (still no salt, no sugar unless necessary) but if the ingredients are naturally salted (eg scallops) i will not bother to soak or wash them too much. |

spotyger what a scare! your girl must be traumatised. hope no obvious scars when the wound heals Salt and sugar Wow! I didn't know mummies here are so strict with the food that u give to your babies. I think I am the most relax one, I let my mum feed anything and everything to my boy and she had added soy sauce in his porridge since he was 5 mths old and I added marmite cos plain porridge tastes really yucky. And every now and then, we feed my boy outside food and our own home cook food which of course contains salt and sugar. I am pretty easy with this as long as the kid is fine. And one of the main reason that I allow him to try everything is I don't want him to be a fussy and picky eater, so everything must try. |

Seasoning to babies food: I also don't add seasoning when preparing Vera's porridge. We prepare stock in advance for the porridge and the stock itself is quite tasty thus I don't think there's need to add salt or seasoning to the porridge. I don't stop her from eating outside food plus those baby snacks we brought from supermarket so these are sources of salt going to her little body. I really don't think it's necessary to add additional salt to her meal. hehe... This is my opinion lah. And yes I do agree that "Moderation" is the keyword. And I have to say it's not easy and if grandparents come into the picture it makes it even more challenging.... For many occasions when we are at in-law's place, my fil always trying to give Vera snacks(Junk food) like preserved sour plums, kitkat, chips, crackets etc. I told him no, she's not ready for those food and he said like that ah, ok just let her lick loh, lick ok one. Immediately he took out the sour plum and let Vera lick... I was like er... |

mangogal and jtho, I also don't give mac fries to Vera. Actually Vera hasn't tried any of the outside fried food. hehe.. coz outside even Mac use repeated oil for frying. Repeated oil deep fried food is no good even for adult and I don't deep fry at home (me lazy to clean :p) hence no deep fried stuffs for Vera till now. hehehe... But baked fries.. hmm... maybe I can considering giving her. Jtho, do you make the baked fries for oli? |

Wow, so many mums pregnant again!! Dun think I can managed now if I am pregnant..Too tiring from taking care of my active son. Maybe next year, see how. Mangogal, congrats!! ) U take good care yah. Sportger, my son had a cut on the head from his cousin with a toy car a few days ago. Can understand how you feel though he did not bleed profusely like your daughter..scary and very heartpain. Jtho, I have tried Mac fries for my son a few mths back. What I do was to squeeze out the soft inner mashy potato bits. I did not give him the crispy fried outer part though. Fried not healthy mah.. Yap, oso read somewhere that our baby body need some salt. So am abit relax when trying outside food with him. we hv let him try outside food like chawanmushi, omelette, rice, fish, bao, cakes, ice cream, pancakes, carrot cake, noodles, ikea food.. And my son loves durian!! haha Now Gek Poh shopping centre, outside Prime supermarket selling D13 durian..very sweet n creamy..u may wan to try on your son..hahaha and see his reaction. |

thanks donrox, starflower, sportyger and mummies for the congrats =) reverie - i also thinking abt room issues. abit tough ain't....we want to train #1 to sleep in his room and fil wants to sleep with #1 in the room too (i'm staying with in laws), which i don't like it =P...cos #2 will sleep with hubby and i, then #1 needs to shift to his own room cos cannot squeeze everyone in the same room. Still thinking how. Unless hubby and i sleep in different rooms lor. missycandy - if steam minced meat on its own, u have to feed the rice seperately with the egg/minced meat right? i think my boy will take forever to eat if it is so, so usually i just add the minced meat into porridge and feed him. mangogal - my appt is this coming mon. From my LMP, should be 5 weeks but can't confirm till i see the gynae. can't wait. sportyger - oh goodness! i hope Baby M is ok, i can imagine how frightened it must have been! poor gal, so young need to undergo stitches. Hope she recovers soon. for those mummies feeding rice to their tods, are they taking forever to eat? cos i still haven't let kyan eat as a meal by itself...though he takes few mini bites from the adults during our dinner. We jus give him a bit bit to chew nia. now i also feed kyan outside food but not practically as meal jus onli for taste. he always enjoys it. he don't like to eat his own food, like to eat adult food lor. |

Thanks all mummies, baby M is ok now, infact she was still running around in the hospital when waiting for our turn 'faint'. Scrumpee, I think i am the one traumatised not her haha! In fact on sunday, she didnt want the daddy to hold her hand when we were walking around and she sort of fell and hit the same spot! Bleed a bit but thank God she was ok. After that we refused to let her walk around outside until she recover! |

Got this from Cookyn with Mervyn ... sounds yummy and healthy heehee Pre-heat the oven at 220 degree. Cut 5 baby potatoes into strips. Heat 2 tbsp of oil and fry 3 cloves of crushed garlic. Pour the hot oil and garlic over potato strips. Add 4 stalks of fresh thyme. Season with salt and pepper. Make sure the potato are well coated. Bake it for 30 minutes at 220 degree. The nice thing about this recipe is the garlic will come out all crispy and you can eat it as a chip as well. |

hi mummies, Congrats to all preggy mummies! Must be tiring with a small one inside and running after the other one now. Mummybean, Re feeding, i also experience the same as u. My boy needs to be entertained and sometime even with that, he is hard to feed. He will eat using his hands and mess the food, at the end of feeding, gotta clean up the floor, table etc. Very frustrating indeed. I too sometimes lose my temper and beat his hands. But he will just continue or even smile at me! BUT things got alot better when I let him self feed. I think our little bubs want to learn many things now and one of them is self feed. He now can self feed abt 75% of the food in the bowl, with me holding the bowl so its less messy. IMpt to get a gd bib that can "catch" the food. Less mess plus it can get quite alot in there which I will finish feeding him. i think this is part of their growing and learning process. U can try to see if it works |
